‘On The Mend’

On The Mend is a musical, romantic play about the nurses and patients who spent time in Cheltenham’s Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) hospitals during the First World War. Presented by the Everyman Theatre, it features professional actors alongside a number of local performers. The play will be staged over five nights at, or close to, sites of the original VAD hospitals to create a truly authentic experience. On The Mend promises to be moving, topical, funny, family-friendly and not to be missed.

A Concert to mark the Centenary

Join us for a celebration of music and poetry to commemorate the First World War. This special evening will showcase new work by talented young participants at Gloucestershire Music, Song Writing Charity and other community organisations that bring this poignant anniversary into the spotlight. With choral renditions, new melodies and poetry the evening will move from 1918 to reflect on what the Great War means to us today.
