Gloucestershire & Racing Remembers

To mark the centenary of the Armistice, Cheltenham Racecourse held a tribute to both horse and solider on Sunday 18th November, the final day of The November Meeting.

The Centaur was turned into a field hospital with displays of medals, uniforms and equipment as well as poems by local war poets being recited, war songs sung by local schools and interviews with local history authors.

An act of remembrance took place in the Parade Ring including a mounted party of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars and contingent of Glosters dressed in WW1 uniform followed by an aerial combat display.
